The CarCanMadCarLan Development Foundation Inc. has the following purposes:

1. To create, establish and organize a foundation that shall serve as a catalyst for social, cultural, environmental, touristic and economic development in the cluster of Municipalities of Carascal, Cantilan, Madrid, Carmen and Lanuza (CarCanMadCarLan), Surigao del Sur.

2. To serve as an umbrella organization among all local initiatives, particularly in the pursuit of a sound, equitable and sustainable ecological development.

3. To serve as a program intermediary between the office of the Congressman, Governor/Vice-Governor, NGO’s, LGU’s and/or CSO’s intended for the CarCanMadCarLan area.

4. To acquire such assets, funds, grants, aids and similar financial support as are consistent with the foregoing purposes.

We are committed to:

a) establish integrated, holistic and sustainable communities in the area using the Goad Challenge community development model;

b) mobilize and pursue massive, lasting, meaningful and sincere multi-sectoral partnership and global networking to spur eco-tourism, economic and community development.

Goals:

1. To adopt Gawad Kalinga as a template for township development and establish model site where all the GK programs are implemented thru massive volunteerism, partnership and global networking;

2. To institutionalize the cd.net (community development, networking, economic & tourism) as the key pillars of the CDF;

3. To define structures, plans, systems and strategies to implement and mobilize a well-coordinated, interactive, lasting and meaningful network of development partners in the pursuit of its key pillars.
